Fethullah Gulen & Gulen Movement in the Greek media

Greek media have shown interest in Turkish Scholar Fethullah Gulen following other prominent newspapers from around the world. Kathimerini, a reputable economics and politics daily paper left a 15 page dossier to analyze Gulen and his teachings.

Following two famous newspapers in Greece "Ta Nea" and "To Vima", Kathimerini prepared an analysis of 15 pages titled "International Fethullah Gulen Movement".

The daily paper states that Gulen has initiated a movement which reaches out to the world, holds strong values on education and focuses on establishing humanitarian aid organizations around the world.

Intellectual Gulen associates Islam and Western values through his teachings. He says Muslims should keep up with the life styles of the contemporary world preserving their religion with its practices and philosophy.

According to Kathimerini, the Gulen movement has made a tradition in organizing meetings in the name of interfaith dialog such as the meeting with the Greek Patriarch of Istanbul Bartholomew, the Pope, Armenian Patriarch and the Chief Rabbi in Turkiye.

Gulen advises his followers to migrate to the West as being envoys of Islam and Turkiye. Gulen also advises his followers to develop themselves in their cultures. Gulen's teachings have positively affected intellectual Turkish Diaspora in the West.

Kathimerini quoted Gulen as saying, "Islam and terror can never coexist; a Muslim cannot be a terrorist and a terrorist cannot be a Muslim."

The daily newspaper recall Gulen as being elected the top intellectual alive.
