(Video Duration: 3 min 46 secs)

Dr. Trudy Conway, professor of philosophy at Mount Saint Mary's University, Maryland, spoke to Rumi Forum on Fethullah Gulen and Hizmet (popularly known as Gulen Movement.)
“What I am most impressed by is the extent to which his teachings have been appropriated in the lives of people who are very devoted to the principles and truths he espouses.”

"The works of Gulen promote a particular living of an ethos that’s grounded in particular virtues. An d I have come to understand that these virtues to be at the heart of Islam. I haven’t met anyone from Hizmet that doesn’t embody these virtues. It’s kind of witness to a type of living Islam which, I believe the core of Islam. A promotion of peaceful relations between persons rooted in deep love of God and respect for diversity God has created ” Dr. Conway remarked.

According to Conway, all of Hizmet educational and charitable initiatives are committed to human welfare, development of human’s capacity and potential and responses to human suffering in need.
